Professional Staff


The Missoula Figure Skating Club is pleased to have a highly skilled professional staff available to coach aspiring and developing figure skaters.

The following coaches are members of the Professional Skaters Association and their qualifications have been verified by the MFSC Board of Directors. They have been approved by the MFSC Board of Directors to coach privately on MFSC ice sessions.

Type of Lessons: All levels Free Style and Moves in the Field. Dance lessons (solo and partnering) through Pre-Gold.
Qualifications: PSA Registered Rating in Free Skating & Moves in the Field, PSA Hockey I and II Accreditation, USFS Gold Freeskate, USFS Senior Moves in the Field, USFS Silver Dance, USFS Novice Free Dance.
Available on: All public skate and MFSC club ice sessions.
Other: Skated for twelve years at every USFS test level in non-qualifying and qualifying competitions at the local, regional, and sectional level. Skated in many ice shows and training camps in Minnesota, Iowa, Montana, and Canada. Attended various PSA Conferences & Seminars from 2007-current. Acquired a PSA Registered Rating in Free Skating & Moves in the Field (5/10) and passed the PSA Hockey I and II Accreditation tests (5/07).

Type of Lessons: Freestyle (Jumps & Spins), Moves in the Field and Choreography
Qualifications: Passed USFS Novice Freeskate, Junior Moves in the Field
Available for Lessons on: MFSC club ice sessions (Schedule in Advance)
Other: Competed all over Northwest; coached Skate with U.S. Basic Skills program for 4 years; assisted with Skate with U.S. program for 7 years; competed for 9 years; instruction from Leslie Albright, Diana Geary-Cook, Inger Kroeplin and other guest coaches at camps; participated in skating shows. Brynn has been coaching a wide variety of students and levels in Missoula since 1998. She started coaching skaters for competition and tests in 2006. Brynn recieved her Master’s in Higher Education in June of 2008 with an emphasis in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership.

Type of Lessons: Youth & adults, beginner through Intermediate Freeskate & Senior Moves in the Field
Qualifications: Passed USFS Junior Moves and Intermediate Freestyle.
Available for Lessons on: MFSC ice sessions and public skate sessions
Other: Diane competed for 10 years at local and regional levels in Colorado where she also attended numerous camps and workshops. Diane competed in singles and was also part of a Synchro team for a few years. She skated in shows for the Ice Skating Club of Fort Collins for 13 years. Diane started coaching Basic Skills at age 16 at her home rink.  She continued coaching through college and eventually started teaching private lessons a few years later. Graduate school brought her to Missoula in 2009. She has been coaching with the Missoula Figure Skating Club ever since. When not at the rink, Diane likes to hike with her dog, road bike, ski, and explore Montana.

Qualifications: USFSA & PSA Member Coach; Continuing Education Requirements (CER) Category A Compliant; PSA Hockey Skating 1 & Registered Member of USA Hockey; Completed SafeSport Training; Passed the Basic Accreditation (BA) Exam 8/31/2011; passed the United States Figure Skating (USFS) Pre-Preliminary Moves in the Field; Masters Cha Cha and is First Aid CPR Certified.
Available for Lessons on: MFSC ice sessions, Open Figure Skating, Young Skaters & public sessions
Other: USFS Basic Skills Instructor (2004-Current); Choreographed and performed in MFSC Showcase on Ice (2004-Current); Evelyn King Skating Seminar, 2000; PSA Seminar in Tacoma, 2009; & PSA Montana State Workshop, 2011.  Skating keeps me fit along with weight training and cardio workouts 3 to 4 times a week.

Other: Previous skater and volunteer for skating clubs in Florida.  Experience in Montana include MFSC USFS Basic Skills instructor (2003-present), and private lesson instructor (2004-present), PSA Montana State Workshop 2011. Coached youth and adult skaters of all ages for numerous years at competitions, shows, and test sessions. Choreographed solo and group skating numbers for MFSC holiday, spring, and Showcase on Ice productions.   MFSC holds a special place in Karen’s heart as she loves to see skaters learn and grow throughout our sport!

Other:  Ginnie began figure skating as an adult when Glacier Ice Rink 1st opened in Missoula.  Formerly, Ginnie taught inline skating lessons and was certified by the International Inline Skating Association (IISA) as a Level II Instructor.
