Fall Session with Early Discount

We offer many levels of group classes from beginning to more advanced. Our next session is 8 weeks long with a low student to instructor ratio. Students will receive ½ hour of instruction and 15 – 20 minutes of practice time.  We will place each students in the class which is the most safe, comfortable and appropriate for their age and skating level.  Here is a broad description of the classes we offer:

Snowplow Sam 1-4

The Snowplow Sam levels are designed to help children 6 and younger build confidence while learning the basic skills of skating.  These classes help students develop the ABCs of movement – Agility, Balance, Coordination and speed..  Class ratio is generally 1 instructor to 6 students with assistance provided by MFSC members.

Basic Skills 1-6

The “Basic Skills” are the fundamentals of the sport. The Basic Skills are designed for skaters aged 7 – 13. These six levels of the program introduce the fundamental moves – forward skating, backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, and turns. Upon completion of the Basic 1 – 6 levels, skaters will have a basic knowledge of the sport enabling them to advance to the more specialized areas of skating such as ice dancing, figure skating, synchronized team skating and hockey.

Adult Skating Classes

Missoula Figure Skating Club offers Adult Skating Classes.  (These classes are also called Basic Skills 1-6, Learn to Skate USA.)

Basic Skills Exhibition/Competition Preparation Package

New to competition? The Basic Skills Exhibition/Competition Preparation Package is perfect for you! This package is composed of four 30-minute sessions for Basic Skills skaters to practice programs with an MFSC approved coach.
