**Please Note:  Once per season, all Learn to Skate students must register or renew their membership with the National Learn to Skate USA Program (Step #1 below). The season is July 1-June 30.

To register for a Learn to Skate (LTS) class, please follow this easy 2-step process:

Step #1:  Go to www.LearnToSkateUSA.com and carefully follow the instructions below.
New LTS Skaters – select “SIGN UP” and follow instructions. You will be assigned a LTS member # and will set up a password. This is a lifetime # and you should record your # and password for next year.
Returning LTS Skaters – select “LOG IN” and enter your LTS member #. If you are a US Figure Skating member, use this # to log in. If you don’t remember your LTS #, call the number on the website or leave us a message at (406) 543-LUTZ (5889).  DO NOT RE-ENROLL or SIGN UP again as this results in multiple membership numbers per skater.

Registration is good for one season, July 1-Jun 30. Fee is $16 + $1.25 Shipping & Handling. When selecting a local LTS program, select Missoula. Now proceed to STEP #2.

Step #2.  After you have successfully registered/renewed with Learn to Skate USA, sign up for the session(s) you want. Download the MFSC registration form here: 2018-19 Learn to Skate USA Registration Form.  Be sure to write your LTS USA Membership number on the form. You may mail the completed form with a check to MFSC, P.O. Box 9195, Missoula, MT 59807.  Or you can scan or take a photo of your completed form and email it to missoulafsc@gmail.com and pay with a credit card using the PayPal link below – please make a notation on the paper form that you paid via PayPal. A $5 processing fee applies.

Learn to Skate Fall Session
Skater(s) Name(s)

We offer many levels of group classes from beginning to more advanced. Our next session is 8 weeks long with a low student to instructor ratio. Students will receive ½ hour of instruction and 15 – 20 minutes of practice time.  We will place each students in the class which is the most safe, comfortable and appropriate for their age and skating level.  Here is a broad description of the classes we offer:

Snowplow Sam 1-4

The Snowplow Sam levels are designed to help children 6 and younger build confidence while learning the basic skills of skating.  These classes help students develop the ABCs of movement – Agility, Balance, Coordination and speed..  Class ratio is generally 1 instructor to 6 students with assistance provided by MFSC members.

Basic Skills 1-6

The “Basic Skills” are the fundamentals of the sport. The Basic Skills are designed for skaters aged 7 – 13. These six levels of the program introduce the fundamental moves – forward skating, backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, and turns. Upon completion of the Basic 1 – 6 levels, skaters will have a basic knowledge of the sport enabling them to advance to the more specialized areas of skating such as ice dancing, figure skating, synchronized team skating and hockey.

Adult Skating Classes

Missoula Figure Skating Club offers Adult Skating Classes.  (These classes are also called Basic Skills 1-6, Learn to Skate USA.)

Basic Skills Exhibition/Competition Preparation Package

New to competition? The Competition Preparation Package is perfect for you! This package is composed of four 30-minute sessions for Learn to Skate skaters to practice programs with an MFSC approved coach. Skaters will be prepared for our annual Glacier Challenge and Spring Skating Spectacular show. Your skater will most likely need more time to practice their skills/programs on Public Skate, Club Ice, and/or Off-ice. Coaches’ private lesson rates apply on all other skating and/or off-ice sessions. Please ask your coach for more information. You must be a current Learn to Skate or MFSC member to participate.
