The Missoula Figure Skating Club Welcomes You



2018 Glacier Challenge – Missoula Montana

The 2018 Glacier Challenge is March 22 (test session), and March 23 and 24 at the Glacier Ice Rink in Missoula, Montana.  This competition is a production of the Missoula Figure Skating Club, and has become a major competition within the Rocky Mountain West.

Our 9th Year!

Well Balanced Events below Pre-Preliminary and Test Track events will be judged using the 6.0 majority judging system.

Compete USA events will be judged using the 6.0 system.

All Well Balanced Free Skate events Pre-Preliminary and above, including Open Juvenile, as well as adult silver, junior, senior will be judged using the International Judging System (IJS).

The Glacier Challenge will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of U.S. Figure Skating, as set forth in the 2017-2018 US Figure Skating Rule Book as well as any pertinent updates which have been posted on the U.S. Figure Skating website.

Tentative start time is 11am and is dependent on the number of skaters signed up.

TEST FORM DUE DATE: Thursday, March 1st.

Coaches, please let Test Chair Shari Riley, (riley.mcafee AT know a preliminary idea of how many of your skaters will be testing and what tests. This helps reserve the ice time needed.

We LOVE to skate and we want to help you reach your skating goals – whether you just want to skate for fun, take part in competitions, or possibly make a career out of figure skating.


While club membership is not required to take our Learn to Skate classes, we offer club members several other opportunities to develop their skills quickly through Skating School, Power Skating classes and more.  In addition, if you choose to join Missoula Figure Skating Club, we offer several hours of exclusive “Club Ice” every month where you can practice jumps, spins and other moves safely on less crowded ice.  We also have a jump harness which a certified instructor can use to help you learn jump techniques.

Our home rink is Glacier Ice Rink at the Missoula Fairgrounds.
